Česká Lípa, The Virgin Mary Birth Church
At the site of present church a small one was located as far as at the time of king’s Václav IV. His establishment documents were issued by general vicar Jan from Nepomuk, later know as St. Jan Nepomuk. The church was destroyed by Hussite but after many fires it was always built but from the wood only. The stone church was built in 1710. In 1873 a tower was added to the church and a bell from another destroyed church was placed there. Unfortunately, the bell was destroyed. In the course of the WW II. three bells were damaged, one of them the bell from the 17th century given by Karel Ferdinand Valdštejn. Nearby the church there used to be a cemetery which is today being used as a park.
